This bridge was constructed to provide faster access for motorists to the Nicoll
Highway. Serving the arts hub at the Esplanade currently under construction, it is part of the Land Transport Authority's vision of a first class transport infrastructure network serving the business district.
Built for the Public Works Department by Obayashi Corporation, it was completed in 1997. An approximate area of 7,000 square metres of concrete were treated, including the pilecaps, dolphins, capping beams, etc. with Dry-Treat
